Skin Diver Course

The Skin Diver course was devised by PADI for all ages, from 8 yrs going up to any age, because you are never too old to learn (no medical certificate required)

Snorkelling is great fun even if you only wish to observe underwater life from the surface, however Skin Divers quite often venture further, making frequent surface dives to interact with aquatic life, up close and personal.

What you learn:

  • Basic information on skin diving equipment
  • Dive Science, eg equalising your ears
  • The environment
  • Managing the unexpected
  • Safe skin diving pracises

Inwater training includes:

  • Entry and exit from the water
  • Various techniques for donning and adjusting equipment
  • Surface swimming, clearing water from your snorkel and mask
  • Performing effortless surface dives

Course Duration:

  • Afternoon Session - Theory and confined water lessons
  • Morning Session (following day) Boat Trip and open water guided tour

Discover Scuba Diving

Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba to see if you like it. While not an actual scuba certification, you’ll learn how to use scuba equipment in shallow water and get a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.

Course contents:

  • Full briefing on equipment, safety, communication and techniques
  • A beach dive to our artificial house reef

What you'll Learn:

  • What scuba equipment feels like and how easy it is to move underwater while wearing it
  • What its like breathing underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there
  • Basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course should you choose to take it further

Scuba Diver Course

If you are short on time or don’t want to spend your whole holiday studying before you can go diving, this is the perfect course for you.

Course contents:

  • First three of five sections of knowledge development
  • Self Study
  • 1 confined water training dive
  • 2 open water training dives

PADI Scuba Divers are then qualified to dive:

  • under the direct supervision of a PADI Dive Master, Assistant Instructor or Instructor
  • to a maximum depth of 12 metres / 40 feet
  • obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in diving activities with the required supervision

*Duration: about 2 days *Minimum age: 10

Open Water Diver

This is the world's most popular scuba course and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle

Course contents:

  • 5 knowledge review sessions plus video
  • Self Study
  • Confined water training
  • 4 open water training dives

Prerequisites:

  • Swim 200 yards or swim 300 yards with mask, snorkel and fins
  • Tread water for 10 mins.

Course Materials (included):

  • Open water manual
  • Dive tables
  • Log Book
  • International Certification

* Duration: about 4 days (can be split over 2 weekends)

* Minimum age: 15 years for an Open Water Certificate

* Minimum age: 10 years for a Junior Open Water Certificate

Advanced Open Water Diver Course

Further training under supervision of a PADI instructor in areas of diving that interest you.This helps to increase your skills and confidence underwater.

To qualify for the Advanced Open Water Certification you must complete at least 5 of the following specialities:

  • Deep Diving (compulsory)
  • Navigation (compulsory)
  • Night dive
  • Drift dive
  • Search & recovery
  • Peak performance buoyancy
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • Multilevel and computer diving
  • Project aware – fish identification
  • Boat diving

Course contents:

  • Self Study
  • Knowledge reviews
  • Thorough briefing session per speciality
  • One dive with instructor per speciality

Prerequisites: 

  • Open Water Diver with internationally recognised federation
  • 15 logged dives

Course Materials (included):

* Duration: about 15 hours including five dives over two days * Minimum age: 15 (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

EFR - Emergency First Response

Includes manual and international certification

  • No dive certification required
  • No minimum age limit

The Emergency First Response program meets requirements for CPR and First Aid in the workplace and incorporates the latest procedures for emergency patient care. The Primary Care and Secondary Care courses may be completed in approximately four hours. Divers must take the Emergency First Response courses to meet program prerequisites, such as PADI Rescue Diver, or as preparation for becoming a PADI Divemaster.

What you learn in the EFR Primary and Secondary Care Course

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
  • Preventing and caring for shock
  • Spinal injury management
  • Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
  • Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations

Rescue Diver

This course teaches divers to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well-being of divers around them. Students are taught to manage more complex dive emergencies and apply direct intervention techniques to assist others in a diving emergency.

Course Contents:

  • Self Study
  • Knowledge Review and video sessions
  • 10 Rescue development exercises
  • 2 Rescue scenario dives

Prerequisites:

  • Students must be certified Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Proof of 20 logged dives
  • Course Material (included)

*Duration: 4 days (can be split over 2 weekends)
