From Johor Bahru, with our subsidised bus transfer
From Johor Bahru by car

Notes:
  • When departing or entering Singapore across the Straights of Johor by bus, even our private hire mini bus, the authorities insist that you disembark and walk through Customs and Immigrations, with all your luggage. There is nothing the drivers can do about this so please do not shout at them, you have been warned!
  • Please make sure you have your Immigration Cards filled in, one for each person (not each passport) ready.  Cards are available from all major hotels in Singapore, Changi Airport, the Malaysian Consul or Sea Gypsy drivers.
If you are coming by plane you can either fly to Senai Airport, Johor Bahru, Malaysia or Changi Airport, Singapore. We can arrange for a pick up from either airport. We use 10 seater mini buses and the cost is for the bus, not per person!
From Senai:   Cost to Tanjong Leman:  RM300
Travel Time:  2 hours
However if you are flying in for a stay of 6 nights or more we only charge RM35 per passenger!
From Changi:  Cost to Tanjong Leman:  RM400
Travel Time:  3 hours
However if you are flying in for a stay of 6 nights or more we only charge RM45 per passenger!

Unless the words "nett" or "inclusive" are used all prices are subject to 15% tax & service

If you are driving from Singapore print out and use the following directions:
Note:  You will need a small amount of Malaysian Ringgit for Tolls (RM 16), parking (RM8 per day) and jetty fees (RM4 per person). The drive is just over 2.5 hours, please give yourself 3 hours for the journey.
Here are the directions for the Causeway crossing at Woodlands (however if you prefer to use the second link Tuas crossing click here for directions).
After going through Immigrations and Customs the road turns left. Stay in the right lane and a take the first U turn right to get onto Jalan Wong Ah Fook heading north.
You will now be  heading north through the centre of Johor Bahru.  Just keep following the road and the signs to Kota Tinggi and Mersing.  The road will bend this way and that, go under fly overs and over motorways but just keep on the same road.  This is route 3 to Mersing and will take you all the way to the turn off for Tanjong Leman.
Following route 3 you do not have to go through Kota Tinggi as there is a by pass. If you wish to fill up with petrol or if you have children and they need to ‘go’ we suggest that you go through Kota Tinggi and use one of the service stations there. The toilets all cost 20 cents, take your own toilet paper!  This will only add about 15 minutes to your journey.
Keep following the signs to Tanjong Leman, Pulau Sibu and Mersing.

*About 40 minutes north of the Kota Tinggi turnoff, at average speed, you will see signs for Sibu Island Resort (not us but they own the jetty), Tanjong Leman and Pulau Sibu. It is a right turn (through a check point onto the Tenggaroh Plantation).

From the turn off to the beach takes approximately 20 minutes.  There is now a new road leading to a new car park and jetty so stay on the tarmac road, do not turn off at the first car park sign to where our loading area used to be but go straight on to the new car park barrier.  (Sorry the barrier and hut has just been destroyed by a truck!  I’m not sure where you actually pay for parking your car now but I’m sure somebody will come and find you.)  It costs RM 4 per night to leave your car there and RM 4 per person over the age of 4 years to use the jetty.  Please show your jetty tickets to the security guard on the jetty and keep the ticket for the return trip in case they try to charge you again!

*There is now a sign to Tanjong Leman at the Sedili turn off, 13km north of Kota Tinggi. You can follow this route if you like, it is very pretty BUT there is a long stretch of narrow windy plantation road, complete with free roaming cows, where you will NOT get ANY mobile signal and the pot holes are quite bad at the moment. It is not very busy so if you should break down you could get stuck for a while. NEVER use this route after dark. If you wish to follow this route here are the directions:

Turn right at the Sedili junction, go 21km to the traffic lights

Turn left and cross the bridge, after which you will enter Tenggaroh Plantation, go 22km to a T junction, turn right.

Go 1km and you will see the right turn to Tanjong Leman, it’s another 11km to the jetty car park.
Print out these directions if traveling from Singapore to Tanjong Leman by Bus & Taxi:
Please give yourself 3.5 hours for the whole  journey.
Either Catch the 170 bus anywhere around Singapore that takes you across the Causeway and all the way to Johor Bahru Bus Terminus.
Or go to Queens Street Bus Terminus and take the Singapore / Johor Express which will also take you to Johor Bahru Bus Terminus.  Slightly more expensive but air conditioned and fast!
Or take a taxi to Johor Bahru (or to Woodlands and walk across the Causeway).  Nowadays there are quite often long distance taxis just the other side of the Causeway and it is not necessary to go to Larkin Bus station to catch one.  If there aren’t any then take a local taxi to Larkin Bus Station.
Or take the MRT to Kranji Station and take the Causeway Express from there to Larkin Bus station.
(Start here for directions by taxi from Johor Bahru. Please give yourself 2.5 hours for this journey.)
At Larkin Bus Station get a Long Distance Taxi to Tanjong Leman.  If the driver is not sure where Tanjong Leman is tell him Tenggaroh Plantation (which most of them seem to know).  The cost of the taxi should be RM 150.
At Tanjong Leman there is a Jetty Fee of RM 4.00 per person, children under 4 yrs free of charge.
On departure taxi’s are available from Tanjong Leman back to Johor Bahru.
Print our the following directions if driving from Kuala Lumpur:
The drive should take about 5 hours, please give yourself 5.5 hours for the journey.
We suggest when driving down from KL that you stay on the motorway until you get to the Kulai turnoff (almost to Johor Bahru!). Turn right and drive about 5 to 8 km into Kulai.
Turn left onto route 94 to Kota Tinggi and Mersing.  This is a long straight plantation road heading east.
Turn north when you get to the T junction following route 3 to Kota Tinggi and Mersing.
Follow route 3, you do not have to go through Kota Tinggi as there is a by pass, unless you wish to fill up with petrol.  Also if you have children and they need to ‘go’ we suggest that you go through Kota Tinggi and use one of the service stations there. They all cost 20 cents take your own toilet paper!  This will only add about 15 minutes to your journey.
Keep following the signs to Mersing.  About 40 minutes north of the Kota Tinggi turnoff, at average speed, you will see signs for Tanjong Leman, Pulau Sibu. It is a right turn (through a check point onto the Tenggaroh Plantation).
(Alternatively
You can turn off the motorway at Kluang and cross country there, but it is a winding single lane road and can be frustrating!  You then turn south on Route 3 towards Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru.  About half an hour on you will see the Tanjong Leman turnoff on your left (there’s a small BP station on the corner).)
If you are driving from Johor Bahru print out and use these directions:
Please give yourself 2  hours for this journey.
Carrefour is on Route 3 which is the road to Kota Tinggi and Mersing, so you should pass Carrefour on your left hand side.

From the turn off to the beach takes approximately 20 minutes, keep following the signs to Tanjong Leman & Pulau Sibu, there's one left turn & one right turn.  Keep following the road leading to the car park and jetty, do not turn off at the first car park sign to where our loading area used to be a hundred years ago but going straight to the car park barrier.  It costs RM 8 per night to leave your car there and RM 4 per person to use the jetty (keep the ticket as they like to try and charge you again on the return!).
