Dan' Nasty
Frogmen
run
excursions every morning & afternoon. Prices range from RM20 to RM60
depending on the distance and the length of time. Here are some
examples:
|
- Kukus Snorkelling Trip - 10
minute boat trip
|
-

|
- Kukus is a small, secluded, lush
green island with a sparkling white sand beach that represents
paradise perfectly. So much so it was used for the Swedish Survivor
programme, unfortunately all the Swedes have left....J
It has a thriving coral reef
system, excellent for all levels of snorkeler. Great for young
children who also love playing on the beach and in the jungle.

 |
Lima Kecil Snorkelling Trip
- 20 minute boat ride |
| If you want your own untouched piece of tropical
paradise then Lima Kecil is for you as we never see any other snorkellers
using this island except us. Lima Kecil offers a well sheltered beach with
a fantastic reef system directly off it. |
| Min Tinggi
- 15 minute boat ride |
 |
| Min Tinggi is a favourite with our
regulars because the reef system offers such a diverse selection of marine
life. It is common to spot Black Tip Reef Sharks (don't worry
they're only small....J)
|
| Fishing
Trips to Local Kelongs |
|
 |
A Kelong is a
traditional Malaysian Fish Farm on stilts constructed from coconut
tree trunks and built in the
middle of the ocean. Since the area around Pulau Sibu was designated a
Marine Park in 1993 the Kelongs are no longer allowed to operate as fish
farms and now offer live-aboard line fishing holidays. Whilst we wouldn't
recommend staying on a Kelong they are great fun to visit, there are several
between the mainland and Pulau Sibu. |
|
They are great
fun for kids who want to try fishing because the surrounding waters are
teaming with marine life. You also have to try squiding, just watch out for
the screaming when the ink starts spurting out! If they catch something
bring it back and we’ll cook it up for their dinner..... yummy

*available Monday thru Friday only. |

Jungle Walk to Kampong Duku |
| It's about a 40 minute walk from
Sea Gypsy Village at the north east of Sibu Islan to Kampong Duku in the
South West. The walk is reasonaly easy and very pleasant. The Kampong
(village) is a traditional sleepy island village and well worth a visit as
it remains untouched by commercialism. |
|
- Jumping off the Kampong jetty whilst
waiting for the
- Sea Gypsy boat to take you back to the
resort is a must!
