The Emergency First Response program meets requirements for CPR
and First Aid in the workplace and incorporates the latest
procedures for emergency patient care. The Primary Care and
Secondary Care courses may be completed in approximately four hours. Divers must take the Emergency First
Response courses to meet program prerequisites, such as PADI Rescue
Diver, or as preparation for becoming a PADI Divemaster.
What you learn in the EFR Primary and
Secondary Care Course
- BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level
- Preventing and caring for shock
- Spinal injury management
- Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
- Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations
